After a two-month investigation into allegations of mistreatment of players, University of Nebraska women’s basketball coach Connie Yori resigned on Tuesday, ending her fourteen year tenure with the Huskers.
According to the Lincoln Journal Star, more than ten players from this year’s team approached athletic department officials late in the season, spurring the investigation.
Yori has strongly refuted those allegations and in her statement this afternoon said the decision to step down was a personal choice.
In her fourteen years with the Huskers, Yori led the team to an overall record of 280-166 with two conference crowns and seven appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst said a national search for her replacement is underway.
