SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — It’s nearing the end of football season as teams either continue playing or suffer heartbreak in the state playoffs. And this week is no different.

KCAU 9’s SportsZone Game of the Week features two top-five ranked teams in #5 Spirit Lake and #3 West Lyon.

You can feel the energy in Dickinson County as the state semifinal takes place at the UNI Dome of the 2A showdown of West Lyon at Spirit Lake. It’s a battle between a pair of 9-1 teams who each fell one game short of Cedar Falls last year, and each poised to flip the script in 2023.
