For the second time in program history, Oakland-Craig is heading to the state tournament after beating Hartington Cedar Catholic 57-49 in the C2 District Finals Friday night.

“This is my first time in all four years of high school we’ve gotten to cut down a net, my freshman year we went to state on a wildcard, but this is just the first time it feels real,” senior guard Dacey Nelson said. “It’s something we’ve worked for forver and our coaches have worked for forver and it’s finally here and it’s our time.”

Junior guard Kennedy Benne echoed her teammates words.

“This is the first time cutting down nets, so it’s pretty exciting and a lot of emoition out there,” Benne said. “I’ve been playing with my seniors forever, so we wanted to go out with a bang and that’s exactly how we’re wanting it to go and it’s looking good so far. “

The Nebraska state tournament starts next Thursday.
