Angerman moves up a weight class in search of another belt

Sports

Since his King of the Cage debut, Sioux City East alum Kyle Angerman has been an impressive fighter, racking up a 6-0 record and winning the Welterweight Amateur World Championship. This weekend, he’ll go for another belt.

Angerman is moving up a weight class on Saturday at Summer Smash at Winnavegas Casino Resort in Sloan, Iowa, and will battle Dino Saracco for the vacant 185-pound Middleweight Amateur World Title.

Angerman has won two of his last three KOTC bouts by knockout and he’s confident heading up a weight class.

“It’s awesome,” he said. “I’ve been eating steak my whole camp, I get to indulge in the things I couldn’t before, so it’s a lot better. It’s nice. I’m still fast and I still have good cardio. I still have to cut to get there so I’m still not at my natural weight. I’m cutting down from 205 so I still feel really good.”
