Having a pet run away from home is a fear that every pet owner has.

But how far would you go to find your missing pet?

Well if you’re Riley McDermid, you hire a pet detecitve!

McDermid’s cat Sheba went missing over a month ago.

While McDermid says she really doesn’t like cats in general, she grew to love her beloved feline.

So when Sheba disappeared, she had to find her.

But how do you find a cat that just up and leaves?

Enter Mona Kay: Pet Detective!

This real life Ace Ventura tracked the cat to Omaha, Nebraska, which is over 1,600 miles away (McDermid is from California).

Sheba was found to be with the family of a neighbor who died. McDermid thinks they stole him when they were moving their deceased loved one’s things back to the midwest.

After the sleuthing, Sheba was returned home.

On ABC9 News This Morning, Jessica Rae and Scott Larson chatted about hiring a detective to find a lost pet.
