STUDY: Employees feel overworked

This Morning

Who likes Mondays?

While many love starting a new week and heading back to work (who doesn’t?!), some just can’t mount any energy or enthusiasm to start the work week off on the right foot.

But if you are one of the many who don’t feel rested, refreshed and ready to face the start of the work week, you’re not alone.

“The Energy Project” (which is a consulting firm that works with companies around the country) recently worked with the Harvard Business Review, studied 20,000 employees.

The results of the study are not that surprising. It found that most employers are trying to make humans function like machines.

Researchers say that doesn’t work because unlike machines, humans need to go back and forth between spending energy, and renewing that energy.

The study revealed that more than half of the workers in the study said they lack regular time for creative thinking.the ability to focus on one thing at a time, opportunities to do what they enjoy most, and opportunities for learning and growth.

Many employees also struggle to balance work and home. They say they struggle to disengage from work, because it is always on their minds, or their phones.

The key is to strike a good balance between relaxation and work.
