Des Moines, IA -Governor Branstad’s rival for November put the focus on medical marijuana Wednesday.
Democrat Jack Hatch was joined by a dozen families impacted by epilepsy during “Purple Day” at the Capitol, in support of the Iowa Epilepsy Foundation.
Hatch wants Iowa lawmakers to legalize medical cannabis as a treatment option.
He called on Governor Branstad to show some executive leadership and asked legislators to act.
“These are families who have tried dozens, hundreds of meds, but for some reason medical cannibus is helpful to these children and changing their lives,” explained Hatch.
Hatch has been active with the Epilepsy Foundation for the past five years.
