PIERRE, S.D. (KCAU) – South Dakota’s lieutenant governor held a press conference without Kristi Noem Thursday morning.

The Republican legislative leadership’s press conference began at 9 a.m., and the Democrat legislative leadership’s press conference began at 9:30 a.m.

After the two parties spoke, Lieutenant Governor Larry Rhoden held a press conference at 10:30 a.m.

During the conference, Rhoden spoke about a bill Governor Noem is going to try to implement to end abortions starting when a heartbeat is detected. He said he hasn’t seen the legislation yet, but he confirmed it might have similarities to Texas’ law.
