YANKTON AND ROBERTS COUNTIES, S.D. (KELO) — Burn bans are being put in place across South Dakota Thursday.

Due to recent dry skies and heavy winds, both Yankton and Roberts County have announced that a burn ban is in effect until announced otherwise.

Authorities warn that fires will spread rapidly and show erratic behavior under these conditions.

Outdoor burning is not recommended.
