Bill addresses opioids on college campuses

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — A South Dakota lawmaker is taking on the opioid crisis on college campuses.

Representative Dusty Johson is co-sponsoring legislation that aims to help colleges and universities implement new programs.

The programs would prevent drug abuse and support people with addiction.

According to the Center for Disease Control, about 130 Americans die each day from an opioid overdose.
