Beto O’Rourke to speak to Morningside College students

Democratic candidate Beto O’Rourke will be speaking with Siouxlanders at the Olsen Student Center. The event will begin on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m.

O’Rourke spoke with students Wednesday night at Iowa State in Ames, Iowa, saying that climate change should be first on everyone’s mind in 2020.

“Again, there is not much debate around this. Another degree Celsius and some scientists say another half a degree Celsius, and the scientific term is we are screwed,” he said.

The latest Emerson College poll shows O’Rourke in fifth place amongst likely Iowan voters. Trailing nearly 20 behind front-runners Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders.

He will be in Storm Lake Friday morning at 8:30 at the Better Day Cafe.
