Watch: Gov. Ricketts proclaims School Choice Week

LINCOLN, Neb. (KCAU) – Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts held a press conference Monday, and proclaimed January 24 to 30, 2021, as School Choice Week.

Gov. Ricketts proposed a $2 million budget to fund scholarships for low-income K-12 students to attend private school.

Along with the private school budget, Gov. Ricketts proposed a $3 million investment to triple the size of a textbook loan program in Nebraska that will help private school students have access to learning resources.

Gov. Ricketts also mentioned a vaccination event in Lincoln that helped vaccinate an estimated 2,400 health care workers at the Pinnacle Bank Arena.
