South Sioux Chamber of Commerce hosts SSC Candidates’ Forum

Nebraska News

Local candidates vying for open seats in Dakota County were all in once place tonight.

Nearly all of the 12 candidates running for Dakota County Commissioner and South Sioux City Council met at the South Sioux Middle School. The Chamber of Commerce put on the forum as a chance for local voters to see all their choices side by side.

“I think it’s timed just perfect,” Jim Steele, president of the South Sioux City Chamber of Commerce said. “We’re a couple weeks away from the election, and it gives everybody a kind of ‘one last chance’ to visit with the candidates.”

There are four people running for two open seats on the county board. Eight people are vying for four seats on the city council.
