5000 THC vape cartridges seized in western Nebraska traffic stop

Five people were arrested and 81 pounds of marijuana was found over three stops

NORTH PLATTE, Neb.(KCAU) - Over a three-day period, authorities in western Nebraska and seized more than 80 pounds of marijuana and 5000 THC vape cartridges and arrested five people

The Nebraska State Patrol said in a release that a trooper stopped a car near the Maxwell exit after seeing it fail to move over for an emergency vehicle Saturday around 1:50 p.m. The trooper smelled marijuana and a search resulted in about 5,000 THC hash oil vape cartridges and an ounce of suspected khat.

Mohamed Abdulla, 25, of Brooklyn, New York, and passenger, Sarhan Abdullah, 43, of New Haven, Connecticut, were arrested for possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, and no drug tax stamp. They were lodged in Lincoln County Jail.

Another trooper stopped an SUV for speeding Sunday around 4:35 p.m. near the Kimball exit. Suspecting criminal activity, a search was conducted. Troopers found 26 pounds of marijuana in luggage. Keshi Wu, 38, of Alameda, California, and Minchao Yu, 36, of Brooklyn, New York, were arrested for possession of marijuana – more than one pound, possession with intent to deliver, and no drug tax stamp. Both men were lodged in Kimball County Jail.

Near the Maxwell exit again on Monday, a trooper stopped a different SUV for speeding Monday around 4:15 p.m. A search revealed that 55 pounds of marijuana in the cargo area. The driver, Viktoria Belan, 40, of Mount Prospect, Illinois, was arrested for possession of marijuana – more than one pound, possession with intent to deliver, and no drug tax stamp. She was lodged in Lincoln County Jail.
