Yankton voters approve of new aquatic center

In Yankton, voters turned out in record numbers to make their voices heard on the approval of a $15 million aquatic center.

First discussed back in 2006 and once again in 2009, this project has been in the works for over a decade.

At last check vote totals show 66.21 percent favoring the bond issue and 33.79 percent voting no.

Absent votes are still being counted. KCAU will bring you final numbers once we have them.

The City Commission will act on official counts at a Friday meeting.
