Woodbury County parks now open to campers

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – May 1 marks opening day for camping and outdoor season at Woodbury County’s public parks.

Snyder Bend and Brown’s Lake-Bigelow Parks near Salix and the Little Sioux Park near Correctionville are just a few of the local parks ready to host campers, hikers and more this summer season.

“We’re looking forward to weather being nice, lots of opportunities for boating, fishing, bird watching, picnicking. We have shelters, we have cabins for rent,” Woodbury County Conservation Officer Dawn Snyder said.

This Friday the Woodbury Conservation Board is holding a camping kickoff weekend. Campers who register will receive promotional items for each night of camping.
