The community of Winnebago will soon be doubling its already robust solar power systems.

Ho-Chunk announced today they’ll be installing solar arrays in nine additional locations in the Winnebago community thanks to more than 700-thousand dollars in new funding.

The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Energy with matching funds from Ho-Chunk and the Tribe. The solar system is expected to save the community over 87-thousand dollars a year.
