SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – Downtown Sioux City is now home to piece of art created by Sioux City West Middle School Students.
Eighth grade students at West Middle created a pieces of art that were combined into a collage mural entitled ‘Sugar High’. On Friday the student artists got to see the mural unveiled in the downtown skywalk.
“I think it’s really important to show off their artwork that they’re learning in the classroom and make it imporantat to them. I think them seeing it out it the public will make them want to work harder and be better at it and why not let other people see the hard work they’re putting into their work,” West Middle School art teacher Holly McManigal said.
The mural will be hanging in the skywalk attached to the Educational Service Center on 4th Street.
