Waukee police: Man found with 58 marijuana plants in storage facility

WAUKEE, Iowa (WOI) – A search warrant executed by Waukee Police officers found a man who had an alleged marijuana growing operation in a storage unit.

According to court documents, Waukee investigators went to a unit at 130 SE Brick Drive. It was confirmed through the front office that William Peterson was the sole renter of two of the units.

According to police, there were several pieces of paraphernalia that were labeled with cannabis in both units. There were 58 live marijuana plants along with chemicals on how to grow marijuana plants found in one of the units. There were also two large paper yard sacks found full of green plant material which field tested positive for marijuana in the other unit.

Court documents show that there was a large plastic tub filled with dried marijuana plants and also two 5 gallon buckets of green leafy material believed to be marijuana found in one of the units.

Peterson remains in the Dallas County jail and is facing several drug-related charges.
