Authorities have identified a man charged in connection to a hit and run incident on Monday that injured two people.

According to Officer Bob Johnson with the Sioux City Police Department, the driver has been identified as 31-year-old Thomas Farrens.

Farrens was allegedly driving a 2015 Kia on the 1800 block of Grandview Blvd on Monday night when he hit two people working on a minivan. The car was later found abandoned at Grandview Park.

Court documents show Farrens was initially charged with failure to provide proof of insurance, but that charge has since been dismissed. Authorities say that the investigation into the matter is ongoing, and that charges could be filed at a later date.
