SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – UnityPoint Health St. Luke is taking steps towards improving perinatal care by hosting their 45th annual Perinatal Conference Thursday afternoon.
The conference covered prenatal and perinatal care education, as well as topics ranging from new technology to infant death prevention. There were several local and regional medical physican guest speakers as well as an exhibition area. Naomi Holtz, an organizer of the Perinatal Conference, said this event promotes better patient care in Siouxland.
“There’s always new technology and new equipment, new research study and so it’s always evolving. And our doctors and nurses do get the latest information to be able to provide better care for their patients in their communities,” said Holtz.
Some other topics that were discussed ranged from baby formulas, medications, and the care and treatment of prenatal health.
