SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – A local business is celebrating 100 years in Siouxland by donating to the United Way of Siouxland.

The Gleeson Family Foundation is celebrating the family business, Klinger Company’s milestone anniversary with a $1 million gift to the local organization.  The gift comes in the form of an endowment, meaning it will continue to provide funding for years to come. United Way annually will receive dividends from the endowment.

After 100 years in Siouxland, Klinger Company CEO John Gleeson says the family enjoys giving back to the community.

“I know through the volunteers at United Way that allocate those dollars that those dollars will be allocated in a very effective way to help so many young children, adults that are struggling with issues that will impact over the years thousands of people as all United Way dollars do every year,” said Gleeson.

Klinger Companies is a third-generation business that is now the 4th largest construction company in the U.S.
