ORANGE CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – A mother and her boyfriend were arrested for allegedly assaulting a child.

Jacob Guse, 27, and Natashia Dvorak, 28, both of Sheldon, Iowa, are charged with child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor.

On April 10, Guse grabbed the victim’s arms and legs, according to court documents. The victim fell to the floor and hit their face. While Guse held the victim down, Dvorak, the victim’s mother, allegedly hit them with a belt.

A social worker reported to authorities that the victim may have been assaulted, and the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office started an investigation. The sheriff’s office said the victim sustained injuries from the incident at the home near Boyden. Upon completion of the investigation, the sheriff’s office arrested Guse and Dvorak Tuesday.
