A Sioux Center woman was arrested over the weekend for an outstanding arrest warrant.
The arrest came from an event when officers were trying to serve an active arrest warrant to Kami Schiebout, 40, of Sioux Center on July 27 just before 4:00 p.m., according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
They say that they received a call from someone that knew Schiebout was wanted, claiming they saw her The Ridge Golf Course in Sioux Center. Schiebout is said to have fled into a nearby cornfield when officers arrived at the golf course.
The sheriff’s office asked the public to help find her, and received several tips in the following weeks, but were unable to locate her.
They then received a tip Saturday evening about her location. Deputies got a search warrant and searched a residence at about a mile west of Sioux Center on 400 Street, finding Schiebout.
Shiebout was arrested without incident on the outstanding arrest warrant for failure to appear. She was booked into the Sioux County Jail.
