It ranks as one of the worst killing sprees in Nebraska history. And now the man responsible has been sentenced to death.
Nikko Jenkins was convicted of killing four people in Omaha in 2013. The 30-year-old sentenced late Tuesday afternoon to die by a three-judge panel.
A packed courtroom that included families of the victims listened as the panel delivered the sentence.
The judges found the four killings were both “planned and deliberate.”
“If this person didn’t get the death penalty for killing 4 people in a period of time, who would, so I think that precedent is somewhat set,” said Don Kleine, Douglas County Attorney.
Jenkins is the 11th person who’ll be sitting on Nebraska’s death row but authorities acknowledge it may be years before he’s actually executed.
