The Sioux City Warming Shelter is experiencing an increase as they head in to the winter season.
The shelter houses as many as 75 to 80 people a day and provides clothing, food and television without any requirements.
We spoke to the Joe Twidwell, the manager of the Warming Shelter, and he said the homeless community is grateful they have access to a warming shelter at their leisure.
“If there are people that are suffering from the cold, and they don’t have any place to go, in a community like ours where we’ve been very blessed., we need to make sure that no one gets hurt or dies from being out in the cold.” said Twidell.
This is the Warming Shelters 6th season keeping the homeless warm.
