ATLANTA, Georgia - The nation's busiest airport is in the dark and nearly 100 planes are grounded.
The power outage is leaving thousands stranded and is said to possibly be caused by a fire.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport suffered from the power outage starting around 1 p.m. Georgia Power says it believes the fire may have caused extensive damage in one of the company's underground electrical facilities.
The fire has since been put out and Georgia Power is now entering the damaged area to assess damages and begin repairs.
Several airlines de-boarded their planes and the ETA for when power will be restored is currently unknown.
