What would you do if someone lost your $800,000 inheritance? Well for one couple in Canada, it was a nightmare. Speaking of nightmares, try running into a 1500 pound runaway cow in the early morning hours.
If you think losing your wallet is bad, try losing $846,000.
That’s what happened to a couple in Canada after UPS lost Lorette Taylor’s inheritance check.
“Never in my wildest imagination did I think something like this would happen,” Taylor said.
10 months later, the Taylors were at a breaking point trying to recover the money.
Lorette’s brother hired ups to deliver the bank draft.
However the check went missing along the way and the bank would only cut a new check if the family put up their home as collateral, in case the original check was fraudulently cashed.
Thankfully, after this story aired on CBC News this week, the bank finally released the money to the family.
UPS apologized too, “for any inconvenience” and refunded the $32 shipping charge.
In Philadelphia, not once, but twice, a cow named “Stormy” escaped a live nativity scene at the old First Reformed United Church of Christ and was captured by police.
“She’s a real mellow, sweat cow. Nothing really phases her. She figured out that she can push this gate open and now she’s playing with it.”
Stormy’s live performing days are over for now. She has been sent back to the farm and replaced with her younger daughter, “Ginger.”
