A northeast Nebraska man is dead after an SUV versus combine collision.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said they were called Tuesday around 8:00 p.m.to a vehicle collision on Highway 275 about five miles west of Norfolk.
They said that Douglas Rakowsky, 68, or rural Battle Creek, was driving a Dodge Durango, which collided with the rear of a combine driven by Mark Freudenburg of rural Madison.
Rakowksy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The highway was shut down for about three hours.
The collision is still under investigation.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue, Battle Creek Fire and Rescue, Norfolk Police Department, Nebraska State Patrol, and Battle Creek Police assisted at the scene.
