SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) –
Sioux City students now have their own art exhibit inside Sioux City’s Ho-Chuck Centre. More than a thousand students art projects are on display through Sunday. Art students from Sioux City’s public middle and high schools are participating in the exhibit. Instructors say it is a big honor for these students to see their art in an official exhibit.
“It is an amazing sight to see the kids get off the elevator with their families. They’re running to find their school, they’re pointing out their artwork. Just the pride that they have showing their parents, the number of pictures that are taken, what we see on social media coming out of this weekend, and advocacy for the arts is just incredible,” says Pat Toben, Arts & Community Engagement Program Coordinator for the Sioux City Community School District.
The exhibit also features a fashion show with designs by kids and models from the career academy.
