A Storm Lake man has been arrested on charges of sexual abuse of a child and other charges.
The Storm Lake Police Department says it received information from the Sioux Falls Police Department on June 30 that a 12-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Storm Lake.
Police started an investigation and worked with Iowa Department of Human Services and Child Advocacy Center in Sioux City.
Storm Lake Police say 30-year-old Jose Ramirez Gonzalez, of Storm Lake, sexually assaulted the girl several times over the past eight years.
Additionally, they say the girl’s juvenile siblings were physically and emotionally abused by Gonzalez.
Gonzalez is accused of tying-up two children and locking them in closets on at least two occasions.
Gonzalez was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, a class B Felony. He is also charged with indecent contact with a child and child endangerment.
Gonzales is being held in the Buena Vista County Jail on $20,000 bond.
