Storm Lake, Iowa (KCAU) – The Storm Lake Police Department arrested a man after he allegedly choked his wife and threatened to kill her Sunday night.

The police said in a release that they received a report of domestic assault at a residence on the 700 block of Bradford Street Sunday around 8 p.m. A victim told police that she and her husband, William Rysavy, 40, of Storm Lake, were arguing when he blocked her from leaving the bedroom. He then allegedly threw her on the bed and started to choke her, saying he would kill her if she called the police. He then fled, and the victim called 911.

Police found Rysavy and his vehicle at Chautauqua Park. He was taken into custody without further incident.

The victim was taken to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center for her injuries.

The Storm Lake Police Department arrested and charged Rysavy with domestic abuse assault-impeding the flow of air, first-degree harassment, and false imprisonment. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.
