State rolls out curriculum aimed at teaching students about IA Caucuses

Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate unveiled a statewide plan to educate high school students on the importance of the Iowa caucuses on Tuesday.

The educational push, titled Caucus 101, was announced today by Sec. Pate at the FFA Enrichment Center on the campus of the Des Moines Area Community College.

Caucus 101 is a unique curriculum aimed at involving students, parents and communities while teaching high school students about Iowa’s unique in the political process of electing a new president.

The non-partisan, 7-step course has been approved by both parties as well as Social Studies teachers across Iowa.
