South Sioux PD asking for help after vehicle break-in

SOUTH SIOUX CITY, NEB. (KCAU) – The South Sioux City Police Department is asking the public’s help in the case of a vehicle break-in and theft from Thursday afternoon. 

They said that a suspect broke out a window of a vehicle parked at an elementary school parking lot and then stole a purse. 

The suspect was driving a dark-colored Chevrolet SUV. It entered the parking lot Thursday, April 25 around 1:45 p.m. and left around 1:53 p.m.

Anyone that may have security footage of G Street from 15th Street to 7th Street and Arbor Drive from G Street to Silver Maple Lane are asked to call the police at 402-494-7555. You can also email footage to

The police said that they believe the suspect to be a group of suspects that target vehicles parked at gyms. The vehicle they are using is believed to be a rental. 

They also want to remind everyone to not leave valuable or personal documents in your vehicle.
