Siouxland Woman Becomes Ambassador For “Count The Kicks” App

Local News
South Sioux City, NE (ABC9 News) A Siouxland woman has become South Dakota’s ambassador for a phone app that lets you track your baby’s movements.

Seven years ago, Jennifer McCune likely saved her baby’s life when she called her doctor after noticing he had stopped kicking.

Danny was delivered by an emergency c-section and is now a healthy seven year old.

Now Jennifer is the South Dakota ambassador for the app Count The Kicks, which encourages pregnant moms to track their baby’s movements every day during the third trimester.

“There are so many mothers out there that have lost their children because they didn’t have this opportunity and we know that counting the kicks won’t save every baby but even if it saves one like my son Danny it’s worth it. So we’re trying to get this message out not only on Mother’s Day but everyday,” said Jennifer McCune.

The free app is available for Android and iPhone.
