A Siouxland man is in critical condition after a Sunday crash on Interstate 29.

On Sunday around 3:30 p.m., Walter Jessup, 49, of Beresford, South Dakota was riding a motorcycle going south on I-29 about three miles south of the River Sioux exit, according to a Iowa State Patrol crash report.

They say he was driving in the left lane when the Prius, driven by Doyle Crume of Webster, South Dakota, in the right lane in front slowed down due to backed up traffic from the hazardous material spill earlier and began to enter the left lane.

The motorcycle then hit the rear fender of the Prius on the driver side, went end over end, and came to a rest in the median.

Jessup sustained serious injuries from the crash and was taken to Bergan Mercy Medical in Omaha, Nebraska where he is in critical condition.
