Siouxland man arrested on sexual assault charges

A 51-year-old Siouxland man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he tried to sexually assault his 14-year-old nephew multiple times in 2016.

According to court documents, Raymond Lalumendre attempted to grope the victim several times by sticking his hand down the boy’s pants. On all three occasions that Lalumendre assaulted the boy he was pushed away and told to stop. 

Authorities say that all of the assaults took place at Lalumendre’s residence.

Lalumendre is currently charged with three counts of Assault with the Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse. He was booked into the Woodbury County Jail on Monday and released after posting a $5,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for June 14th at 9:00 A.M.

Assault with the Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse is an aggravated misdemeanor in the state if Iowa. If convicted, Lalumendre faces up to two years in jail per count.
