A federal criminal investigation is now underway into a deadly downtown Sioux Falls building collapse that happened one year ago.
Court documents indicate the U.S. Attorney’s Office has opened a probe into the death of a construction worker in last December’s collapse.
The Copper Lounge building was being renovated when that collapse happened.
Along with the construction worker’s death, a woman who lived in an upstairs apartment was trapped under the rubble for hours.
OSHA has already fined the contractor $200,000 for the incident.
