Sioux City woman arrested for stabbing girlfriend in the face during thermostat argument

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – A 22-year-old Sioux City woman has been arrested following a stabbing Thursday morning. 

According to a release from the Sioux City Police Department, officers were called out to a residence on the 3000 block of Park Avenue around 9:45 A.M. after the report of a stabbing. When they arrived on scene the victim had already been taken to a local hospital with several stab wounds. 

Investigators were able to determine that Keonah Brown had gotten into an argument with her live-in juvenile girlfriend over changing the residence’s thermostat. During the argument police say Brown grabbed a steak knife and stabbed the victim several times. According to court documents the victim was stabbed in the face, arm, and leg. The victim received several stitches and will require surgery. 

Brown is currently charged with aggravated domestic abuse and willful injury. She’s being held in the Woodbury County Jail on a $20,000 bond. Her next court date is scheduled for May 6 at 9:00 a.m.

The victim’s name is not being released.
