The school district calls it back to school night, a time where many students and their parents can get a sneak peek at what the upcoming school year holds by visiting the schools.
Each school hosts their own back to school night, each with their own different activities. And while it helps the parents understand what’s coming for their children, it also helps the teachers prepare for the new year.
“It’s a nice opportunity to connect the name with the face for my sake, when they’re all here for the first day,” says Nodland teacher Brooke Lang. “And then also just to meet with their parents as well because we don’t get a ton of opportunities to have that face to face meeting with parents throughout the year. “
Students can also benefit by getting acquainted with their new classrooms and classmates.
Elementary schools were open from 4-6p, middle schools were open from 5-7p, and high schools were open from 6-8p.
