Sioux City moves ahead with dog park ambassador program

Local News

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) –

Dog lovers are learning how they can help keep Sioux City dogs and dog owners safe at the local dog park. The dog park ambassador’s program was introduced as part of the new rules established after a dog was killed at Bacon Creek Dog Park last year. Tuesday night’s meeting highlighted new rules and regulations. The city is hoping more people sign up to become ambassadors.

“We’re trying to get ambassadors that are going to spend time at the dog park already.  People that have dogs and are already there. To help educate and make a better experience for the people at the dog park just making sure they’re being safe and everyone’s having a good time at the same time,” said Eric Griffith from Sioux City Park and Recreation.
