Sioux City man arrested for June stabbing

Local News

A man was taken into custody for a deadly stabbing last June.

Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office charged Jeremy Lillich, 44, of Sioux City, with involuntary manslaughter for the stabbing death of 21-year-old James Purcell.

In early June, witnesses said that Purcell was stabbed and then thrown off a balcony at 420 17th Street after a fight broke out.

Lillich had a record in jail for drugs, but records show he would have been released when the stabbing happened.

He was booked into the Woodbury County Jail and released on $2,000 bond.

A court hearing on the case is set for March 16.
