SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – Police arrested a Sioux City man for attempted kidnapping after a Monday morning incident.

The Sioux City Police Department said they received a report of a disturbance at a residence at 123 West 3rd Street Monday morning just after 9 a.m.

Police said the made contact with Skyler Peterson, 27, of Sioux City, who was allegedly holding a knife to the throat of a woman. 

After refusing to let the woman go and to drop the knife, police used a taser and took Peterson into custody. 

The victim suffered only minor injuries. 

Peterson was arrested and charged with second-degree kidnapping and aggravated assault. He was booked into the Woodbury County Jail.
