SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – People in Siouxland got to enjoy classic musical hits while helping out a local charity Friday night.
Siouxlanders saw many great performances of famous Broadway songs at the Singing for Sanford event at the Orpheum theatre.
The free-will donation entrance fee helps the Sanford Center’s outreach programs. Leaders of the nonprofit say this fundraiser is more important than ever. In July, the Center faces a 50 percent cut in funding.
“It means that some 75-100 kids potentially may lose services if we don’t raise the funds needed to help keep this program intact. We are so appreciative that they’re here, it means that they support the work that we do in this community and we’re just so thankful that they’re here today supporting the Sanford Center,” Fitz Grant, the Executive Director for the Sanford Center said.
The Sanford Center offers services for children and their families, including after school and summer programs.
