Shelters full; foster parents needed in Siouxland

Local News

There’s a huge need in the Siouxland area when it comes to foster families.

Monday evening there was another opportunity for local parents to get some information about fostering.

This comes after a similar meeting last week, specifically for Native American Families. But, advocates say there is a need everywhere and shelters are full, so if you’ve been thinking about fostering, don’t wait.

Ranessa says, “So, we’re kind of in a pinch to find good homes for these kids. I always say that people always think, ‘I can’t be a single mom’ or ‘I have too many kids already,’ or things like that, but you can do it. If you have a love and passion for children, you can do it.”

If you’d like more information about fostering, you can visit Lutheran Services of Iowa online or contact Ansley Griffin at Ansley.Griffin@LSIowa.org or 712.255.2505.
