SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – A Sioux City police officer is being recognized with a federal award.
Lieutenant Brad Bollinger is the recipient of the 2018 Enrique Camarena award from the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The award is presented each year to an officer who is dedicated to making their communities a safer place through drug prevention.
Lieutenant Bollinger earned the award for implementing a new anti-drug curriculum to young students in multiple schools.
The award is named after Enrique Camarena, who was an 11-year veteran agent of the DEA before losing his life while undercover gathering information and evidence about drug lords.
