SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – Maestro Ryan Haskins and the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra have agreed to a new seven year contract. The deal will keep Haskins in Sioux City through the 2024/2025 season. The Cleveland, Ohio native just wrapped up his 9th year as the Music Director for the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra.
“I am honored and thrilled to extend my tenure with the wonderful musicians of the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra,” said Haskins. This extension feels very natural to me as the SCSO continues to soar day by day to new and exciting heights.”
In his time in Sioux City, Haskins has taken the Symphony to new heights through his innovative programming and collaborations with guest artists ranging from Audra McDonald to Brulé. This past season Haskins was the driving force behind a never before seen version of West Side Story that was entirely created and produced by the SCSO. Haskins has also implemented a music education program that reaches over 40 schools throughout Siouxland.
The 2018/2019 season kicks off with Star Wars on September 29th and 30th. Tickets are currently on sale at the Symphony box office and on their website siouxcitysymphony.org
