Local News

Siouxland’s newest spot for winter fun now features a skating rink almost as big as Rockafeller Center’s in New York City.

The city held a ribbon cutting for the new rink at Cone Park Thursday. The tubing hill has been open about it month.

Missouri River Historical Development provided the $400,000 needed to make the rink refrigerated.

The skating rink is open 5:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekends. Admission is $5, and another $3 if you need to rent skates.
