Rain leaves Siouxland, temperatures remain on the cooler side

Local News

The rain is finally moving out, but the cooler temperatures are here to stay for a few days.

Some areas received massive amounts of rain yesterday, last night and this morning.

RAIN TOTALS:

Sioux City: 1.79″

Chamberlain: 1.20″

Spirit Lake: 1.06″

Sioux Falls: 1.90″

***Omaha: 6.15″

Omaha saw the most intense rainfall over the last 48 hours by far.  Communities in that area have reported rainfall totals exceeding 7 inches of rain!

Flooding persisted through much of the day, but the area is expected to recover by the evening and overnight hours tonight.

Tomorrow we will begin to see the start of a nice streak of weather.  Temperatures will remain in the mid to upper 70’s until Friday.

There is a chance to see some showers and thunderstorms on Friday, but the temperatures will not drop at all after.  In fact, the temperatures will greatly increase after because this is not the typical cold front passing through.  This is a warm front that will bring some rain and storms, but also increase the temperatures for the next few days.

Temperatures will remain in the upper 80’s over the weekend, but sunshine will return.
