Pooch Paddle to be held at Riverside Pool

Local News

As the pools close, the Riverside Pool in Sioux City will stay open for two extra nights for some special  guests.

Monday and Tuesday night, the city is hosting the 2018 Pooch Paddle, allowing dogs to take a swim before the pool is drained.

The pool is open both nights from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with small dogs on Monday and bigger pooches on Tuesday. Dogs are considered small if they are knee height os shorter and weigh less than 40 pounds.

All dogs need to arrive on a leash with the owner and tags must be worn. If they live in the city limits, they must  be registered with the city. If from outside city limits, owners must bring their dog’s updated shot records and tags. Multiple dogs with one owner will not be allowed.

All pit bulls are to stay on a leash of six feet or less and be under the control of someone 18 years or older.

Owners will have to follow the city’s rules on disposing animal droppings
